Maison Valentino – Concept Research Project
Fri Jul 19 2022
This project was developed during my collaboration with Maison Valentino in Rome, where I assisted the creative team in concept development for the Autumn/Winter 2024 collection. My main task was to research visual and material references that could support the season’s narrative direction, focusing on the dialogue between romantic tradition and modern identity.
Through studying Valentino’s archival silhouettes, color systems, and textures, I created several mood boards exploring contrasts between delicacy and strength — combining classic lace, sculptural tailoring, and bold contemporary imagery. The research process involved collecting visual inspirations, fabric swatches, and styling elements that could guide both the collection’s aesthetic and emotional tone.
This experience allowed me to understand how conceptual thinking connects to real production decisions in luxury fashion. Working within Valentino’s creative environment strengthened my sense of visual storytelling, material sensibility, and team collaboration, while deepening my understanding of how a strong concept evolves into a cohesive collection.
